We are an investment firm with a balanced and diversified approach to investing in the growth of the Indian economy. We leverage our team's deep experience in developing the Indian venture ecosystem which has led to an extensive network within the investor, entrepreneur and service provider communities. Entrepreneurs value us for being collaborative, knowledgeable and engaged, as we take an active role in helping them with operational, financing and strategic matters.
Saama Capital has its genesis in Silicon Valley Bank (“SVB”). It is the independent successor fund to SVB India Capital Partners, (“SICP”). SICP has been successfully investing in Indian companies since 2006. Saama Capital is the same team as SICP, but under a new identity.
Our investment process is simple and usually lasts 4 to 6 weeks. The first step is to send your business plan or a presentation highlighting the opportunity to email@example.com. Upon reviewing the business plan, if there is interest, we will reach out to you to schedule a telephone call or an in-person meeting. This is usually followed by in-person meetings with our partners. In parallel, we will continue our diligence requesting specific data about the market and the company, conducting site visits, meeting the extended management team, doing customer calls etc. If there is consensus within the partnership, we move to the next stage and issue a term sheet. This is followed by financial and legal diligence, and closing of the shareholder documents.
