Smogathon 2017

Smogathon is an competition aiming to fight the air pollution through technology. The initiative gets startups from all over the world to compete  order to find the best solutions to solve the problem of smog.

 

On 15th of June 2017 application for Smogathon 2017 Global Edition started. International contest will be held in five locations around the world: Bangalore (India), Berkeley (USA), Hong Kong (China), London (UK), Warsaw (Poland)  and a final in Krakow (Poland). The aim is to provide great teams and startups with means to implement their air pollution-fighting ideas so they could bring a real change to the daily lives of people around the globe.

 
What Smogathon 2017 Global Edition is looking for?

 

The most desirable projects are in the following areas:

     indoor air purifying

     outdoor air purifying

     household heat & power generation and storage

     smog as a resource

     new ways of smog mapping and predicting

     air pollution prevention

 

Who can apply?

Teams, startups, and companies who want to fight smog with technology, science or any other kind of innovation. You need to operate under any kind of internationally recognized legal entity.

The prize

The winner of the Smogathon 2017 Global Edition will receive a prize of $100,000, comprised of:

 

     $25,000 monetary prize

     $75,000 in form of a contract for the implementation of the winner’s technology, product or solution in Krakow.
